Volunteer Opportunities Summer 2024

  • This position is critical to all camp programming and allows a very hands-on and engaging experience. Throughout the day you will be assigned an activity group and be involved in the various activities around the camp such as: Archery, Recreation, Arts & Crafts, swimming, and the Barn. You and another leader will be assigned a cabin of up to 6 campers where you will eat together, build relationships and experience God at our campfire times. If you are looking to be stretched in your faith and personally, while making a massive difference, come sign up to be a Camp Counselor/Activity Leader this summer.

  • If you have your National Lifeguarding Certification and like to lead activities for kids and youth than this is right up your alley. Every day 4 groups come to the pool and so it's important to keep things organized, safe, and fun. Part of this role is water tests, adding chemicals, and keeping the pool clean.

  • Prayer is such a vital role in the life of Shiloh. We are looking for people to join the team but also looking for a couple people to head up our prayer team and take the lead on it. This would involve sending out updates, needs, requests and general constant pray for guidance and direction of the ministry.

  • Each week up to 20 kids sign up to participate in our Basketball program. You will spend around 3 hours of your day helping with coaching, skill development, and building relationships that can extend beyond summer. If you love Ball and are passionate to teach to various skill levels this is a great opportunity to get involved.

  • Each week up to 12 kids sign up to participate in our Mountain Bike program. You will spend around 3 hours of your day helping with teaching biking, skill development, and building relationships that can extend beyond summer. If you love riding bikes and are passionate to teach riding to various skill levels this is a great opportunity to get involved.

  • If you love horses and want to make an impact in the lives of students, this is a great opportunity for you. Everyday 4 activity groups come to the barn to learn to ride horses. Over the summer many different skill levels will learn to ride, many for the first time. This position takes patience, a love to talk and teach, willing to serve in all areas of the barn, and a heart to see kids succeed in small steps.

  • Our camp programming has grown, now including an adventure camp stream. With this new program we are looking for volunteers with camping experience like fire building, shelter building, foraging and more. This is a great opportunity to teach important but also fun skills to our campers who may not want the intensity of biking or basketball.

  • This is for someone who is in nursing school, currently a nurse, recently retired or in some other capacity, have a higher level of medical training than standard First Aid. It is a vital role to fill as many of our students have meds to take throughout the day but also just lots of cuts and scrapes with the nature of camp.

  • Probably one of the more vital positions at the camp is our kitchen support. We look for extra support here to ensure that things in the kitchen move smoothly and effectively. We serve over 100 meals 3x per day over the 7 weeks of camp and so it takes a lot of work, creativity, and organization to make this happen.

  • There are always lots of projects around the camp that need skilled volunteers to help get done. Grass cutting, building repair and more! If you’ve got the skills and a heart for camp, this is a great way to help.

Want to be a part of
their lives after summer?

Our Connections program is an integral part of our programming which runs from September to May. We strive to be a part of our kids' lives for more than just one week during the summer! Throughout the year you will find us doing things such as sledding, fires in the river valley, going for bike rides, boys/girls small groups and our monthly large group events at which we serve meals, play games and most importantly build relationships with our kids. On top of that we also work with our kids one on one doing things like helping with homework, going to kids sporting events, taking them for coffee and going for walks.

We would love to have volunteers join us in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with our kids! Volunteers are invited to join us at any of our large group events or boys/girls events. To volunteer, you must fill out a volunteer form and provide a police record check. From there we will lead you through a staff training session that will keep our kids, you and us safe! Another volunteer opportunity for Connections is to help bring and serve a meal for one of our events.

For more information on that or to sign up please email Brad at brad@shilohhope.com
